Our Doulas

Meet Monica

Hello all!

I am Monica Piton, and it is my absolute joy to work as a labor and postpartum doula, as well as provide lactation support. With every family I work alongside, my goal is to provide knowledge, experience, and support to empower you to make confident and peaceful decisions in your birthing process.

Learning about human growth and development has always fascinated me, leading me to earn my undergraduate degree in Biology and my Masters of Education. Becoming pregnant with my first daughter fueled this passion further as I was eager to learn more about physiological birthing. I enrolled in a Hypnobabies course in awe of our natural ability to create and birth life.  Equipped with this education and a strong support system–including my own doula–I was able to birth both of my daughters in a way that aligned with my values and was both beautiful and calm.  It is my hope to be part of this support system for other women to allow their births to be full of empowerment, excitement, and joy.

“I cannot recommend Monica enough. As a first-time mom facing an induction, I was terrified. I’m a planner and a bit of a control-freak, and I quickly realized how unprepared I was for what an induction truly looked like. The medical side doesn’t always explain options clearly—but Monica did. Before birth, she came to my home, drank coffee with me, loved on my dog, and walked me through every step with patience and kindness. She answered every question, never rushed me, and created a clear list of choices I could take with me to the hospital. For the first time, I felt informed instead of afraid. Even though I didn’t want a doula in the delivery room, she respected that completely. She prepared me without pressure, empowered me without judgment, and helped me feel confident making decisions during labor. There were things she told me I might experience that I didn’t think would happen—but they did. Because she prepared me, I recognized them, I understood what was happening, and I was able to advocate for myself. I truly believe the knowledge she gave me helped me avoid a C-section.

During labor, when new decisions came up, I called her. She reminded me it was my birth and my body, and that reassurance guided me through overwhelming moments. Even though she wasn’t physically there, her preparation changed my birth experience.

After my daughter arrived, Monica continued to check in—bringing muffins, sitting with me, listening to my story, and caring about me, not just the baby. Birth is beautiful but emotional and intense, and having someone hold space for the mother matters more than people realize. Monica did that.

If you want someone who will educate, empower, respect your choices, and genuinely care, Monica is that person. She helped me enter birth informed instead of scared, and I would recommend her endlessly.”
